I From The President’s Desk

The decade long communal peace in India was shattered by the gruesome killing of passengers d the Sabarniati press and the unprecedented & inhuman communal riots that have ravaged Gujarat for the past one month. Both these incidents seem to be well planned and choreographed by the irrepressible & shameless breed of politicians who play the game of communal politics for their personal gaiS. In the midst of this camagethat affected the whole nation there was a glimmer of hope in our city. Mumbai which proved to be a bane of humanity, restored the faith in the spirit of brotherhood and set an example forthe rest of the country. We must all get together to defeat these devils of disaster & hope to aghieve the greatness for which our country has been known in the past.

M. D. •M. P. A. has added one more feather to its overflowing cap. The international tour that we have arranged has had an overwhelming response and a huge contingent of over 100 MOMPA members shall be visiting, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. Here’s wishing one& all a very happy journey.

In view of our a penchant for heights (achieving higher goals) the cultural dept. has arranged ourAnnual Social at the fantastic venue of M.I.G. Club Rooftop on April21 Sunday. You can put on your dancing shoes and let your hair down and enjoy a kin filled relaxed evening.

The longpending demand of having our Association’s Office is being taken up on a war footing, as the finance of our association has improved in the past couple of years and we hope to fulfil this long cherished dream of our members. I believe that a Permanent Office Address always gives an

Friends, Lagaan did not win the Oscar but the film has got International acclaim and we Indians are proud of it.

One day you will see that we will be there winning the Oscar, reaching great heights at the Olympics, the United Nations and other top international events, keeping our national flag flying and bringing glory to the country.

You will see that we are not going to fight for either Mandir,or Masjid. We are all brothers and will live like brothers, because we are Indians first and last.

Our President has rightly communicated to you in the last Bulletin in his article “Jhanda Ooncha Rahe Hamara”, reflecting the true attitude and feelings of our members. You have observed that ever since the inception of our Association in 1986 we have great leaders like Dr. M.S. Abreo, Dr. M.S. Kamath, Dr. V.R. Arur, Dr. Rajan Gupte, Dr. Ajoy Saha, Dr. Deepak Kachalia, Late Dr. V.S. Bhende, Dr. Sumant Pandya, Dr. A.D.Khaitan, Late Dr.R.B.Mishra, Dr.Pravin Gujarathi, Dr.Sanjeev Khosla, Dr.Anil Pachnekar and Dr.Shivkumar Utture, who worked effortlessly to bring us to the top. I salute them and hope the future leaders will also keep our flag flying high.

This year we are trying hard to have our own premises. All the arrangements for International Tour are complete. Dr. Sudhir PatH will take you to this 1St International Tour starting on 9th May 2002. Those who

RULES OF THE GAME

* Matches shall be played with tennis balls, with underai bowling.

* Matches shall consist of 4 overs each side.

* Each team shall consist of 6-players (MDMPA members only).

* Each team is permitted to have only two members who have represented the MDMPA Cricket Team.

* Each team must have one lady member / member’s wife in the team.

* Each team must have one child (male / below age of 12-yrs (as on 28/4/02) belonging to a member.

* In case of a “tie” a “tie-breaker” match consisting of one over each side shall be applied.

So friends, put on your jogging shoes and start shaping up for the optimum performance on the 28th April 2002.

ANNUAL SOCIAL

21 St APRIL 2002 AT MIG CLUB, BANDRA (E)

After having hac the past few social gatherings of the association at the ground level, (the lawns of “The Club”, “The Club Millennium”) the managing committee has observed that our members prefer to be on higher grounds (reaching for the sky!). Hence the Cultural Dept. has decided to rise from the ground level to a higher (elevated) venue in keeping with our elated spirits. Come & enjoy a fabulous evening of entertainment, games, competitions & prizes at the magnificent locale of the MIG CLUB, ROOFTOP.

Members are warned that it would be difficult for the hosts to control them if they plan to climb “higher” and “higher” as the evening progresses!

In keeping with the tradition of achieving newer heights, the cultural dept. has put forth a well choreographed evening of fun & frolic to be enjoyed by the young & old.

We invite you to wear you best evening dress/fancy dress as there are some special prizes for

Notice is hereby given that a Special General Meeting of Mahim-Dharavi Medical Practitio ners’ Association will be held on Sunday 21st April 2002 at Saraswati Vidya Mandir High School, Senapati BapatMar Mumbal -400 016. from 10am onwards to transact the following agenda.

1. To discuss and approve the purchase of office premises for the assocaition.

Note:

If there is no quorum at the scheduled time the meeting shall stand adjuorned for 30 minutes.

The adjourned meeting shall then take place after 30 minutes at the same place to transact the same business and the members present shall form the quorum.
